Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?
Another find via Kelly 🙂 This sounded like a fun, sexy fantasy/sci-fi novella… and it was. While sometimes I read a novella and don’t feel like I need more of a back story, this time I did. Don’t get me wrong, it all makes sense. I just wanted more explanation. I enjoyed reading this (I even picked it up after putting it down for a few days), however, I didn’t feel a connection with the romance which left me questioning whether I want to read the next in the series or not.
Kelly rated it 4 of 5 stars
Do you have a literary tattoo? I’d love to feature it!
Just send me an email with a picture and story behind it.
Oddly enough my sister and I were just talking about this quote and I had it saved in my email 🙂 This is from Dune by Frank Herbert. One of my dad’s, my sister’s, and my favorite books.

Today is my office’s Final Four Potluck. I never know what to bring to potlucks (or family dinners). It’s usually expected that I’ll bring something healthy… and then no one eats it. This time I’m hoping there are plenty of leftovers to take home 🙂
Spicy Buffalo Quinoa Salad
(adapted from this recipe)
- 2 cups cooked and chilled quinoa
- 1 small bottle of Frank’s Hot Sauce
- 1 can black beans
- bell peppers, diced
- celery, diced
- green onion, chopped
- crumbled gorgonzola
I cooked the quinoa the night before and let it chill in the fridge overnight. This morning I pulled out my already diced celery and bell peppers (I was lazy and bought them this way). I chopped up some green onion and drained and rinsed the black beans.
I started by just combining the quinoa and black beans. Then added the whole bottle of hot sauce. Then I added celery, bell peppers, and green onion until it looked like a good mix. I left the cheese out to be added separate since I know people that wouldn’t like it mixed in.
*If* there are leftovers, I plan on having it with chicken for dinner 🙂
My blogroll hasn’t been updated in a long time. Actually, it says I updated it in Feb 2013, but I’m not sure what I did to it. The Ultimate Book Blogger Plugin has a handy option to help build and update your blogroll. However, before I put time into that, I wanted to know…
Do you look at blogrolls?
I don’t think I do. I find new bloggers from comment sections on my own blog and other sites, but I don’t remember the last time I looked at someone’s Links page.
I’m thinking it would be more worth my time (and more beneficial to my fellow bloggers) if I starting doing Who Am I Stalking again instead of updating the page. Thoughts?
