Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Amanda @ On a Book Bender and I shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war– and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting asThe Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel.

Thanks for the link to 12 things. I don’t post my reviews on Amazon, and I don’t necessarily ‘trust’ the ratings there, but wow, I didn’t realize the stakes were so high.
I saw that post about Amazon reviews and didn’t like it. Here’s one reason why. In #7 the person writing this post states “Talk about the things you liked/disliked.” AND THEN SAYS IN THE SAME ITEM “[it's not] An essay about your personal tastes. It’s not about you.” How am I supposed to talk about what I liked without making it ABOUT ME?
And if you read the comments of that article, many people see that post as manipulating reviews for authors. And I totally get their point. There was another Twitter conversation going on that basically said that article was untrue and that sales are not dependent on good ratings on Amazon.
Anyway. Read Shatter Me! It was so good and unique.
YEAH! Doing the new laptop dance (yes I have a dance for everything)!
WOW on the Amazon Stakes—-I don’t put my reviews there because I am lazy. Yes I said it…..to lazy to reformat mine to make them “fit” there.
I am so glad you are back
Shatter Me! Yesyesyes!
Hope you LOVE it!
Also: I’m with Amanda. I just read the Amazon thing… some of it’s helpful, some of it’s exactly the opposite.
Hmm…
I believe I may be the last person on earth who hasn’t read the Amazon post. I’m going to read it now.
I just wanted to stop by, say hi, and thank you for letting me do my own Clock Rewinders post!
