This book in 6 words:
should have stayed a short story
Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?
This would have been the perfect holiday short story. Instead it was added to in unnecessary ways and dragged. I felt like Aiden was extremely repetitive and that his story was a little overdone. I liked Leta and the way she was related to those we already know. I didn’t hate the overall plot and I teared up at the end. Add that to the overall message that people tend to want to believe the negative over the posititve, and this one barely gets three stars.
I’m hoping the next one is better. Either way I’m almost to Archeron’s book (which is HUGE!) and I can’t wait!!!

Trust me, it’s not the lies that hurt people. It’s the willingness of everyone else to believe them.

I agree that this one should have stayed a short novel–it would have made a very good novella!
