This book in 6 words:
not bad, but a little confusing
Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?
Again I wasn’t overly excited to read a book not centered around a Dark Hunter, however, I was glad to be back in NOLA and with some common characters. I didn’t hate the idea behind this one and I liked Wren and Maggie, however, I felt like the solution was a tad confusing (to the point where the characters even talk about it being over their heads).
I’ve read some reviews where people were really confused by the additions of some minor characters that were introduced in the novellas. I was glad that I’ve been reading them all in order so that those little details aren’t over my head, but I don’t think it is necessary to know every single side character.
I did like Wren and Maggie’s relationship. I felt like they brought out the best sides of each other and I thought it was a sweeter romance than I’ve seen in the last few books.
I’ve seen some terrible reviews for the next book, but I’m not going to let that stop me…
Brief Summary
It’s a predator eat predator world for the Were-Hunters. Danger haunts any given day. There is no one to trust. No one to love. Not if they want to live…
An orphan with no clan that will claim him, Wren Tigarian grew to adulthood under the close scrutiny and mistrust of those around him. A forbidden blend of two animals—snow leopard and white tiger—Wren has never listened to anyone when there was something he wanted. Now he wants Marguerite.
Marguerite D’Aubert Goudeau is the daughter of a prominent U.S. Senator who hates the socialite life she’s forced to live. Like her mother before her, she has strong Cajun roots that her father doesn’t understand. Still, she has no choice but to try and conform to a world where she feels like an outsider. But the world of rich and powerful humans is never to meet the world of the Were-Hunters who exist side by side with them, unseen, unknown, undetected. To break this law is to call down a wrath of the highest order.
In order to have Marguerite, Wren must fight not just the humans who will never accept his animal nature, but the Were-Hunters who want him dead for endangering their world. It’s a race against time and magic without boundary that could cost Marguerite and Wren not just their lives, but their very souls…-via GoodReads.com

I liked this book a little more than you did but that is what is great about this series. There is something that appeals to everyone though not in every book. The next book wasn’t bad at all and definitely worth the read! I think I thought it was filler but to be honest sometimes those really help the next few in the series!
@ Felicia : You’re completely right!
OMG I need to email you about the one I finished last night…
