This book in 6 words:

hated new enemy. loved Ash history.

Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?

Contains SPOILERS!

I have really mixed feelings on this one. While I thought the idea of adding a new kind of enemy was somewhat creative, it just felt like there was too much going on. We already have a pretty complex world built around fighting the Daimons. I had figured out who Kat was prior to this book, so that wasn’t a big shocker. The grace with which Ash accepted the news of having a daughter he didn’t know about for 11,000 years was unbelievable. I also don’t think I like how insanely over-protective he is (poor Nick…).

Back to Kat and Sin… the thing that saved the book for me was the interaction between these two. They were hilarious. I loved their sarcastic quips and the constant teasing. I was surprised that Sin forgave Kat as quickly as he did, but it wasn’t insanely out of character for the series. I LOVE Simi and was glad to see so much of her in this one. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of the monsters introduced in this one…

Favorite Quotes

The strongest steel is forged by the fires of hell.

“What is this? Battle of the Sarcastic and Pissed? Should I make popcorn?”

“Well, that’s just stupid. You can’t hate an entire race ’cause one or two of them are mean.”

- I LOVE Simi!

“Fine, you fun-vampire. I’ll take my scroll over here and play by myself.”

“Fun-vampire? What is that?”

“That would be you sucking all the fun out of life>”

- I name my personal blog “Time Vampire” because it sucked up all my extra time lol.

Brief Summary

Sin, an ancient Sumerian god, was one of the most powerful among his pantheon—until the night Artemis robbed him of his godhood and left him one step from death….

For millennia, the ex-god turned Dark-Hunter Sin has sought to regain his powers and take revenge on Artemis. But now he has bigger fish—or in this case, demons—to fry. The lethal gallu that were buried by his pantheon are stirring, and they are hungry for human flesh. Their goal: to destroy mankind. Sin is the only one who can stop them…if a certain woman doesn’t kill him first.

Enemies have always made strange bedfellows, but never more so than when the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Now a man who only knows betrayal must trust the one person most likely to hand him to the demons. Artemis may have stolen his godhood, but this one has stolen his heart. The only question is: Will she keep it…or feed it to those who want him dead?

  • Kat and Sin pop up at the most fun times from this point on. Let’s just say this—Ash does not have the kind of daughter who stays out of the mix. It is so much fun :) The Daimons for all intents and purposes are the main “baddies” but like the world–there just isn’t one kind of evil. You are only 3 away from Ash’s book—-I am waiting on baited breath to see what you think!

@ Felicia : Ooooh I’m excited to hear that! I really love them as a couple!

Eek I want to just skip to his book… but I won’t. I should maybe get to it next week depending on what review books I start :)
