This book in 6 words:
two souls mates made me blush
Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?
**For Adults**
I came across this via Parajunkee’s View and was looking for a quick read with a little heat… this definitely had the heat! The cover is hot, the characters are hot, and the sex scenes will make you blush in the best way. I never expect much out of novellas as far as storyline and character development, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
I’ll be picking up the next in the series and checking out more by the author.
Brief Summary
Callie has always known the Abbotts were different. Witches, though they call themselves “Magians”. They are her second family. Harrison Abbott has been her best friend since they were children. Tucker Abbott, her life-long crush. And their brother, Tyghe? A magical pain in her backside.
When the Abbotts need her human perspective to solve a mystery, she doesn’t hesitate. Especially since it means getting everything she ever wanted. A chance to be one of them, to have magic, even if it’s only temporary.
Someone is attacking young women at Triune, a ritual that helps Magians find their perfect threesome—the match that will complete their magic and their hearts. Callie expected to be dazzled by her first glimpse into the Magian world, but the bone-melting desire between her and the Abbott brothers isn’t part of the plan.
Nor is the decades-old secret that makes her the target of a killer…

Plot/Pacing/Writing Style
With such a small amount of time, the author does a great job at building a world involving magic and mystery. We know enough about the Magians and their rules to understand what is going on (but there’s enough left open to learn in future books). The mystery built steadily and while some of it was fairly obvious, it wasn’t entirely predictable.
The pacing was very well-done. I didn’t feel rushed which is my biggest concern with stories of this length.
Characters
The characters are what truly makes this novella great. You really feel like you understand and like them. Callie is tough due to her cold foster parents. She also wants desperately to be apart of the magical world she’s known about since she was a child. She jumps at the chance to help her friend even though it puts her life on the line. Her confusion about her budding romances sweet and believable.
Tyghe was my favorite brother. He is annoying, arrogant, and surprisingly sensitive. He has constantly teased Callie and now can’t get enough of her. Tucker isn’t a bad catch either. He is protective, sweet, and sexy. He has been Callie’s longtime crush and she can’t believe she gets to pretend to be his. Too bad her heart is breaking knowing that it is all a show.
Recommendations
If you like paranormal erotica with an extra partner and some slight bondage then this might be the quick, hot read for you.
Going Deeper – NO spoilers
While I was a little out of comfort zone with two guys, it didn’t bother me ethically. But the fact that the two guys were brothers did bother me a little. I just pretended they weren’t related. However, after looking online to see what cultures in history practiced polygamy with multiple male partners, I found that it wasn’t all that uncommon for the two husbands to be brothers. It helped keep the family’s money and home in the family during time periods where only the oldest brother inherited anything.

I’ve read a similar story where the men were foster brothers and agreed to share the girl and she agreed to live as a threesome with them. A little unbelievable for me, but it was a contemporary romance/erotica. Throw in some magic, I can believe it a little more readily. Kudos for the extra homework!
Brother?! Ummm… I try to be open to anything, and I also appreciate the research you did on this, but I think that would make me uncomfortable.
Still, I’m interested because of the magic/witch part. LOL
@ Heather Rosdol : Yeah for some reason the magic makes it a little more OK. It makes it more of a fantasy setting I guess.
@ Missie : Well the brothers really don’t do anything to each other so I guess that makes it a little less weird… It was an interesting story. A series worth trying I think.
