This book in 6 words:

what story lacked the couple completed

Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?

I was a little worried about this not being about a Dark Hunter, but about a Were-Hunter instead. However, I did know that Bride and Vane are Felicia‘s favorite couple and it made me excited to see what made them so special. Ms Kenyon really has a knack for creating not only a world so beautifully built that it rivals that of top Fantasy/Sci-Fi series, but she is a genius when it comes to her couples. Two people that may seem too different on the surface end up being exactly what the other person needs.

Bride has only been with men who want her to change her physical appearance and the thought of the uber-sexy Vane only having eyes for her is about as crazy as him being a werewolf. Vane is used to being beat down by everyone, including any women that want to mate with him. Bride’s gentle nature is exactly what he craves (that and her body which he happens to think is perfect the way it is). I really enjoyed learning more about the Were-Hunters and seeing some old characters make an appearance. While the overall mystery/action in this one may not be as exciting as in other books, the relationship Vane and Bride begin makes the read more than worth your time.

Favorite Quotes

She (Bride) couldn’t image this guy (Vane) having any trouble getting any woman he wanted. Who on Earth would say no to that?

On second thought, she hoped she never met a woman that attractive. If she did, she would be morally obligated to run her over in her car.

There was nothing humane about humanity. At the end of the day, they were all animals with only survival instincts.

Brief Summary

Bride McTierney has had it with men. They’re cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor.

She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur…

Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn’t what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride’s case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn’t looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered–something no self-respecting wolf can accept…

But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.
