Interview with Zoe Winters {Blood Lust Giveaway!!}

I immediately knew that I wanted to spread the word about this indie writer and contacted Zoe to ask for an interview to go along with the giveaway. If you could have dinner with any author (dead or alive), who would it be and why?

Katie MacAlister because I think she’d be a lot of fun to hang out with.

The Blood Lust series has therians, wizards, vampires, werewolves, demons, and more. Did you do research for their mythologies?

I did, yes. But then I made up my own stuff. Like vampires, I added that they do have reflections but the reason they avoid mirrors is because it shows their monster form. That was based on the mythology that vampires couldn’t be seen in mirrors because mirrors reflect the soul and vampires didn’t have souls, so no reflection. I decided vampires did have souls, just not human souls, and that was what people would see instead of the human mask you saw without a mirror. Though, in the mirror you can still see their human form, but barely.

Do you have music playing when you write? If so, what do you listen to?

Oh lord no. I’ve tried it, and it’s just too distracting. Even playing it low. Even if it’s just music with no lyrics… I can’t focus to write with that noise.

Any ideas on when or what we can expect from the full length novels? Will we be seeing our favorite characters?

The first full-length novel, Save My Soul, I’m in edits on right now. I’m hoping to release it sometime this winter. The only recurring character that you’ve met before is Cain. Cain is the head of the incubi and succubi. He was briefly introduced in Mated as an ally/frenemy of Cole. But I’m in rewrites/edits right now, so it’s possible another character could get mentioned or seen, but probably not since this book happens in Golatha Falls, the place the demon dimension connects to Cary Town.

Cain is the villain in Save My Soul. He gets his own book later. He’s my favorite character. Though Anthony plays a close second.
