This book in 6 words:
exactly the romance and action needed
Why did I read this? And am I glad I did?
This was yet another book added to my TBR by Smexy Books. Isn’t the cover amazing?! This was exactly what I was looking for. After finishing And Falling, Fly, I wanted something with a little less thinking and little more action. This was a fairly quick read and full of action and romance. This does not have a cliffhanger and from what I gather each book in the series has different lead characters… I’m still mad that I can’t buy the next books yet
Brief Summary
Keith Winston is tired of fighting. The war between werewolves and wizards rages on in Europe, but he’s come home to Red Rock, Montana in hopes of finding a bit of peace. Instead he finds more strife as he struggles against the pack’s dictates that he resume his place as the alpha’s right hand man.
When he rescues a new wolf on the run, he knows his instant attraction to her could cause trouble. What he doesn’t expect is to find himself embroiled in another battle that goes against all his instincts—and his heart.
Abigail Adler learned about the existence of werewolves only when she became one. With her life is threatened by a corrupt alpha, she flees to the only sanctuary she knows: Red Rock. While she’s grateful for the pack’s protection, she chafes under its unbreakable rules of conduct—except when it comes to submitting to the passion Keith stirs in her.
Then her tormentor kidnaps her sister in an attempt to lure her out of hiding. To save her, Abby and Keith must be willing to do the very thing that could get them all killed—break all of the rules.

Plot/Pacing/Writing Style
I enjoyed the plot. It wasn’t overly unique or complicated, but I was never bored. It had some darker parts and some fun smexy parts. I’m really interested to learn more about the war in later books. The pacing was very well-done. It had just enough action, romantic tension, and steam for me.
Characters
I felt like the characters were perfect for this book. There was back history and conflicting emotions. Abby is pushed into a world she didn’t choose and is forced to pick someone to help guide her. Keith has been hurt bad in the past and is not the best choice for Abby’s guide, but he’s who she wants. I felt sorry for Keith and Abby, but very much enjoyed them getting to know each other better.
I’m also very excited to learn more about the side characters in future books.
