Crisis Averted {Amazon Customer Service}

I was very near panic mode by Saturday of last week. My Kindle wasn’t holding a charge. I would plug it in, charge it until the light was green, and then go to use it the next day only to have a low battery warning. I noticed it after the latest update, but that could be a coincidence. I called Amazon (or more accurately asked them to call me via their help page) on Saturday. The phone call only latest around 20 minutes and I was very much relived when it was finished. I was getting a new Kindle. Due to the holiday they couldn’t ship it until Tuesday and I came home on my break Wednesday to find it on my doorstep!

As far as switching everything over… I thought I could just copy and paste the files… but I can’t. Well, I could, but when I go to open a book bought from Amazon it asks to me to redownload it. I also had to recreate and fill in my categories again. Overall, the new Kindle is working perfectly and I could not be happier with how everything was handled.

Thank you Amazon!

  • There is nothing scarier than not having your readers not working. What would you do without those book!

  • I *heart* their customer service department. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and so willing to send you a new one if it can’t be fixed!

  • That’s so great to hear. It seems like most of the ereader companies are taking customer service seriously these days. I just had a similar great experience replacing my nook. Gotta love when the companies value the customer.

    @ Jennifer : I saw that you were having issues on Twitter and I’m glad it was taken care too! I’m really glad that places are taking care of us. They probably saw how much they would lose if I wasn’t able to buy eBooks for a few weeks (little did they know I’m on a book ban lol).
