I was thinking of things I could do to celebrate my birthday and decided to join The Book Extravaganza Giveaway weekend! What is the Book Extravaganza? It’s a weekend of book giveaways hosted by Kristen at Bookworming in the 21st Century and Kate at The Neverending Shelf.

I’m one of those who has never read Uglies and/or Pretties–and I have no excuse! =P One of my students recommended the whole series to me (and to the rest of the class) in an oral report about two years ago. I’m keeping my fingers crossed now so that I have a better excuse to get started on it at last!

When I was working as a children’s librarian, I put Westerfeld’s series on the shelf. It was a great hit. There are so many good authors out there that it is hard to keep track of them all.
