[Did this make you want to read the rest of the story?]
Surprisingly yes. I liked the Twilight series, but didn’t have a desire to read this until I read someone had listed the lead female as one of their favorites. So I decided to pick it up from the library. It is A LOT longer than I expected so I won’t be attempting it until I get back from NY.
Have you read this? Did you like it?

I tried so hard getting into to The Host, but eventually it went to my DNF pile…
I liked it even better than I liked Twilight. It was definitely more science fiction than fantasy but I thought it was interesting.
I have been meaning to pick up this book for a while but it keeps getting pushed down the TBR list in favour of other books. I am looking forward to hear what you think of it to see if it’s worth reading.
I loved the Host. I really enjoyed the Twilight Saga but this was my favorite Stephenie Meyer’s book.
@ Missie : It is a lot longer than I expected. If I don’t really like it, I might do the same :/
@ Kathy Martin : I’ve heard good things from people that didn’t overly like Twilight. I’m a fan of sci-fi so I’m actually looking forward to reading less fantasy novel to mix things up
@ Rachel : I’ll be sure to let you know. My library had a ton of copies so I went ahead and picked it up
@ cait045 : I’m happy to hear that! I liked Twilight, but I’m hoping this is even better.
I LOVED The Host.
I think it was a better book than Twilight (better written, a bit cleverer?).
I found the first chapter really hard to get into, as I didn’t know what was going, but after that, I couldn’t put it down. It’s big alright, but I think I got through it in a day or 2–same kind of thing as Twilight: huge, but a quick read.
@ Sarah : Thanks! That makes me feel a lot better about picking it up
