Welcome read-a-thoners!! I’m super excited to be participating in my first 24 hour read-a-thon!! I’m also very happy to be hosting a mini-challenge!

I recently fell in love with the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris and want to get as many people hooked on it as I can! So I’m giving away the first two books in the series(Dead Until Dark and Living Dead in Dallas)!
All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me
who is your favorite vampire from a book.
Is it Eric from the the Southern Vampire series? Or maybe Bones from the Night Huntress books (my personal favorite!)? Or possibly Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake series? Just tell me who he or she is and what book they are from!
This mini-challenge will last for 3 hours (until 9pm CT).
Good luck and hope you’re enjoying the read-a-thon!!

My favourite vampires from books are:
Jasper – from the Twilight series
Eric – from the Sookie Stackhouse Series
Lestat – from the Vampire Chronicles of Anne Rice
Darren – from the Darren Shan series.
Eric. Definitely.
I have not read very many vampire books, so I will have to stick with Edward from Twilight.
Michael from the Morganville Vampire books.
[...] happening: Joy Renee’s Mini-Challenge (last hour) Tara’s Mini-Challenge Trisha’s [...]
Dracula from Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I haven’t read a whole lot of vampire fiction, and I’m big on the classics.
Edward from Twilight series. Not from the movie, but from the book. Mmmmm.
I like the Vampire Lestat from Interview with the Vampire.
Favourite vampire? I don’t know that I can choose just one. I do quite like Jody from Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck. She’s not quite your normal vampire. And if I had to choose one from Twilight it would have to be Alice. And I have to agree with the Bunnicula votes. Who doesn’t liek Bunnicula???
I haven’t read too many vampire books, though I’d like to read more! So, I’m going to have to go with Edward Cullen….there’s just something about that guy….
[...] colour is Shadow of the Wind – red or brown? I think it’s brown. Mini-challenges? I did Tara’s books that bite challenge and Trisha’s re-reading the classics [...]
I love Rose from the Vampire Academy books! She is such a strong female lead and I love her personality!!
Probably Balthazar from the Evernight series by Claudia Gray. His really sweet and helpful. Or maybe uh Edward Cullen. Self-explanatory.
Am I allowed to pull a Vampire out from waaaaay back when?? I hope so.
There are three actually.
Louis , Lestat, and Claudia. (Yep, from the Anne Rice novels.) If I had to pick just one though, I’d have to say Claudia. There was just something unsettling, vicious about her.
I think it has to be James from L J Smith’s Nightworld series, ‘Secret Vampire’. Very dashing.
Dracula, of course! Can’t go wrong with the original. A lot better than these pansy vampires we have nowadays.
I got into reading vamp books with J.R. Ward and her Brotherhood series….
Kenyon with her vamps and dark hunter series is a close second in favorites but then so is
Lyndsey Sands Argeneau family Canadian vamps and hunters are a hoot. Very entertaining
I’ve read Meyers and I enjoyed her series and enjoyed immensely her adult novel HOST.
My favorite vamp is the one I am reading about at the time. They are all too engaging or entertaining to pick just one. And with books you don’t have to settle for one hero.
My favorite vampire is definitely Edward from the Twilight series!

There is no other choice!
DRACULA wins hands down!
My favorite vampire? Damon from the Vampire Diaries. He was a bad boy in every sense at the beginning, but by the end he was a snarky awesome guy.
For me, it’s Simon in Cassie Clare’s THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series! His character had a great arc and I love everything about him.

How terribly appropriate!! I was out to dinner when you posted this question, and as we left the house for dinner, I picked out Bitten and Smitten by Michelle Rowen to be the next book I’d read today. So, since I just met her, I’m going to nominate Sarah Dearly as my current favorite vampire — among many. I’m sure that the next vampire book I pick up will have a character that I like every bit as much.
Ok… I havent read many Vampire books but see many that I want to. I am excited about your giveaway for this challenge as I have been wanting to read these but dont have any of them at this time.
My favorite vampire at this time is Edward of the Twilight Series
Edward from Twilight. Swoon.
Don’t enter me as I have read (and loved) the first two books in this series. But I did want to comment – I love Eric – I didn’t get the big deal over him until I read book #4! Now I am in love.
Does Angel from the Angel graphic novels count? If not, how about Spike?
My favorite is most definitely Eric Northman from the Sookie Stackhouse series. He is so suave and sexy. It’s hard for me to pick any vampire I love more than him. Bill Compton comes a very far second. Then maybe Lestat.
my favorite vampire from a novel is actually two. Jody and Tommy Flood from Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck both by Christopher Moore. Mostly Jody is my favorite but I really like them as a couple.
My current fav is Eric Northman but forever & always my heart belongs to Lestat with David Talbot & Pandora from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles – I am kinda old school that way!
My tag on this post will say hlhosteh but please if I should win post it as bookobsessedgrl – I haven’t been able to get my WP id to say my preferred tag. Thanks!
I loved the vampire Armand in the Anne Rice’s Interview With A Vampire. Lestat was great but Armand was ooh la la. Oh, and Antonio Banderas in the movie – magnifico!!!
